Great part! I love the theme of strength that ran through that update, and that's been running through the entire fic thus far already.
A whole class just for science, oh I can't wait! So Liz. My thoughts upon approaching middle school science were more like . . . A whole class just for science? Oh . . . crap. lol
I like Liz and hope she befriends Alex and Maria. She's definitely smart to notice that Isabel and the "popular" girls aren't having very much fun. That flashback was so sad. Poor Michael. -April

Michael's flashback made me cry. I'm such a sap in the mornings. I'm loving the banter between M&M I was really expecting one of them to break
off with a rendition of I'm rubber and your glue or something. I don't know if I'm feeling sorry for Izzy or if I don't like her. She's
knows her friends aren't nice and aren't really friends but she still stays around. But then I guess at 10 if I was worshiped I wouldn't stop it
either.

I forgot to mention something, and beware, this is really random and nerdy.
But whenever I see this fic title, I get a song stuck in my head. Kanye West's "Gold digger." And why? It's weird. But part of that song goes "18 years, 18 years," but I always see this title and go "15 years, 15 years" lol, I told you it was nerdy -April

A/N; So guys schools turned it's ugly head on me once more but don't fret!
The next update might be a tad late but it will be happening!
"Maria, Maria wake up. It's 12 and I've got to go to work. Come lock the door." Amy shook her daughter awake. "Mmm," she grumbled and slowly got out of bed. She had a late night yesterday; Michael had met her mom who came home around 1:00. Amy insisted that he stay but she shook his head and walked home. It wasn't odd that he walked home by himself, but Amy still got worried so she walked him towards his trailer park. He muttered a thank you to her and walked into his so called home. When Amy came back she told Maria that Michael was welcome anytime, all the time. "Ok there's money for pizza in the cookie jar. I'll be home late, I love you." Amy called from her car then drove off. Maria grumbled, locked the door and walked back upstairs. Her bed was amazing. -- "Liz! Honey daddy's going to work you want to come downstairs or you want to stay and sleep?" Mr.Parker asked his only daughter. Liz had been a miracle child. Nancy and he had been trying so long to conceive and finally on Nancy's 29th birthday, a gift was given. She was pregnant. "Mmm…"The sleeping child murmured, "I'll come down and help. But I want strawberry pancakes for breakfast." She added. Jeff chuckled and smoothed his daughters hair before leaving, "Ok pumpkin. Nancy, set aside strawberry pancakes!" He called out as he came down the stairs. "It's slow today but it is the afternoon," Nancy informed her husband while giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Is she coming?" "Yeah she's coming." He said fixing his apron. A customer arrived in the café; Nancy moved forwards but was stopped by a hand. "I got this honey." "Mommy," Liz said rubbing her eyes, "can I eat now?" She grabbed her child and chuckled, "Of course honey." -- "Mr.Bojangles," Mr.Whitman hummed the old song as he walked into his house. Ah, finally a weeks worth vacation. It was needed. "Honey, I'm home!" He called and dropped his suitcase to the side. "Alex? Buddy?" "Dad!" He ran downstairs and hugged his father, Mrs.Whitman entered from the kitchen, "Hello dear." "Dad guess what, I made a friend. Not just a friend, a best friend. She says I'm weird and funny. But she also says I'm loyal and, rel-." He stopped and looked at his mom, "Mom what was the word she used again?" "Reliable sweetie." "Yeah, that. Her name's Maria." "That's great bud! I'm so proud of you, why don't you go in the kitchen and I'll come follow." He patted his sons' back and waited until the coast was clear. "A friend?" He whispered to his wife. "Yeah, she's exactly what he needs. He's repressing less of his emotions, it's slow but it's a start. I was losing hope John." "Martha, he'll do fine. I know it, no matter what he's been through, he can do it. And the girl? What about her, how is she?" "Ask your son himself, he won't stop talking about her." They entered the kitchen and while Mrs.Whitman made lunch, Mr.Whitman and his son caught up on all lost time. -- "Daaad! Dad come on the game is gonna start soon!" Kyle yelled from the couch. There was a college game getting repeated in 15 minutes. His dad was always late. "I'm coming; I had to get something for our game." He said entering with two root beers floats and popcorn in the other. "Yes!" Kyle said grabbing the root beer carefully from his fathers' hand, "it's starting soon!" Mr.Valenti looked at his son, ever since Kyle's mother had run out on them he had tried to make his sons' life as normal as possible. Whatever normal was. Kyle had changed; he'd been more distrusting of others around him. Around girls he tried to bring them down so that he could feel safe. The sheriff sighed inwardly, his son had to find inner peace and he just hoped he could help him find it. -- Michael opened his eyes; it had been an interesting night. Him and Maria argued all night and Amy threatened them by saying if they didn't shut up she'd skin them alive. Whatever that meant. He brushed his teeth and went to the kitchen; he opened his fridge and squinted inside until his eyes adjusted to the morning light. He took out cereal and ate quietly; Hank wasn't going to be here until Monday evening. The "house" was at peace until then. Finishing his cereal he dropped it in the sink and changed his clothes. Today Michael Guerin was going to go on an adventure. Where it would take him, where he would end up, who knew? He certainly didn't. -- "Izzie, honey wake up it's 12." Her mom shook her awake. "It's 12! Mom, I have to be at the ma-." She shot up. "You have to be at the mall for that event. What was it again?" Her mom finished off. Isabel jumped out of bed and ran to her bathroom. As she was brushing her teeth she called out to her mom, "It's an autograph signing from fashion models mom!" "Honey, you're 10 years old. What's the need, don't you want to watch cartoons?" Her mom leaned against the bathroom door. "No mom! That's for babies, cartoons are so…childish. Besides I have to be there, the girls and I have to see the newest creations!" Diane sighed, she was only 10. -- "And that is an ancient aboriginal artifact; it's dated back to over 300 years. It brings peace and harmony to the household." Amy said showing a pendent to her customer. "Hmm, how much? Lord knows I need peace and harmony in my house since my wife won't stop screaming at me." He chuckled to himself as he took out his wallet. Amy chuckled slightly and rolled her eyes. Men, so typical. "Well, maybe your wife would appreciate the wonderful gift." She said trying hard not t o clench her teeth and lose her smile. The man didn't seem to notice her sarcasm; he tipped his hat and went off his way. Amy turned and leaned against the counter, in a month this will all be over. Maria never liked this town anyway. -- Maria opened her closet and took out her guitar, she felt in the mood for some music. And what better music then her own? She strummed the guitar but didn't sing, her voice didn't come out. She just kept strumming; the words would come to her one day. She knew it, but for now. She was going to strum away. -- Michael looked up at the sky, clear blue and filled with possibilities, hopes, dreams. Yeah right. He sat on the rock and stared out into the sky. He always came to this place, his sanctuary. He called it rocky point. He hated being hopeful, it was frightening. Getting all excited for something then in the end, it gets taken away from you. What was the use? He was only hopeful for one thing, getting out of this town. It was going to happen, it had to happen. It was all he ever asked for on Christmas. Not that he believed in that baby stuff anyway. He picked up a rock and threw it across the lake. --
"Wow, Isabel look at that! Is that cool? Is that fashionable?" Renee stared at Isabel until she received her answer. Why can't you girls think for yourselves? "No, that's gross. Those colours don't even go." She dismissed. "Yeah, I never liked it either." A voice piped up from the back. Isabel sighed but quickly regained her posture. No need to be irritated, people just need guidance. Besides what queen was happy all the time? She was about to leave when the next model came out, Isabel was stunned. The girl looked flawless. She looked…perfect. I'm going to be her. I am going to be her. "Isabel, is that one tacky?" "No." "I liked it too." The voice in the back said again. Isabel sighed and looked at here group, she didn't even know half these girls names. "Listen, to be a queen you have to make your own decisions. You have to think for yourself." She turned back and gave her attention to the show. -- "That'll be $30.50 please." Liz looked up at the customer who couldn't stop gushing at how small she was. Impressed by her mental math ability he gave her two 20 bills. "Here, I want 10 nickels, a one dollar bill, one five-dollar bill and 12 quarters." Liz looked up at him, he was challenging her, she smiled. "Ok." He had given her $40 in total, and 40-30.50 would equal too... "9.50. And, here you go. 10 nickels, is 50 cents. One dollar plus 5 is six dollars with an additional 12 quarters in which every four quarters are one dollar, turns out to be nine-fifty." She smiled and placed the change in his hand. The customer glanced at his hand then the Liz. "You missy, are one impeccable child. Here," he gave her two dollars. "It's a tip." She looked down at the money and smiled her biggest smile, "Thank you sir." -- Alex lay on his bed, carefully scratching his brow without losing his pencil. He had been bored so he just took out his book and started to write down songs. He sighed as he erased another line furiously. Why wasn't he getting anywhere? He knew why, he was lacking inspiration. Without inspiration his songs were just mere words that held no meaning. He closed his eyes and did what always seemed to work. Think about the one person you'd love to see smiling. Isabel And the words flew out of his fingers, they sounded right. They sounded real, they held meaning. He heard the beat in his head and quickly jotted that down as well. He ignored hand cramps and furiously erased any mistakes. This had to be perfect. 15 minutes later, Alex stared at his completed song. Well it wasn't complete just yet; he needed someone to play it. To sing it. He stared at the lyrics and a small smile came to his face, it described exactly how he felt and thought about Isabel. Although he was still young, he knew he loved her. She wasn't so cold on the inside, she just needed someone to understand and he would be that person. 'Cause I am
hanging on every word you say And even if you
don't want to speak tonight
That's alright,
alright with me
'Cause I want
nothing more than to sit
Outside your door and listen to you breathing
It was perfect, and it was everything he wanted to say to her. Maybe one day he would and she'd open up to him, maybe one day he could finally wipe her tears away because he knew, no matter how strong she seemed on the outside. She was vulnerable on the inside. Maybe one day, he could tell her he loved her ever since the third grade. Maybe, just…maybe. -- Maria got up off her bed and put her guitar away. The beat was stuck in her head so she wrote it down, she didn't feel like writing lyrics to the song just yet. It took her time to find just the right meaning for her song. What was it going to be, loving, fun or just random? She sighed and stretched her arms. She had time to watch cartoons, Scooby doo was going to come on in the next 10 minutes. She went downstairs and climbed on the couch. As she was flipping through the channels the beat went through her head. Maybe someday she'd be able to just stick with a beat while her music partner helped her come up with good lyrics. Maybe someday she'd be rich enough to tour around the world. Maybe someday she could dedicate a song to her fans. Maybe…just maybe.

make friends, and besides Alex will be miserable without Maria.

Okay first off gotta say love that song. Lifehouse is probably my all time favorite band. Second Amy can't move, that'd be too sad for Alex, she's
his only friend. I love Isabel the little fashionista, her poor mother. I'm really curious as to what Alex has gone through that made him start repressing
his emotions. I'm sure you'll tell us in time I'll be patient. Never been my strong suit though.

emadaps : yeah she's moving, and don't
worry , Alex isn't long forgotten yet love madhaj01: Maria does have her mom but since
Amy's always out she's def learning how to be on her own and Michael, well Hank's not the brightest bulb in the sea . And thankyou love
April: Thanks love, and yeup she's leaving.
you'll know why soon enough "I swear, the amount of homework we get should be like triple the time we get for recess." She babbled to Alex. He nodded and organized his piles, Maria frowned. Something was off, usually Alex would say something chirpy or motivating but he was stone faced. If she hadn't known better, she'd think he and Michael were best friends. Now that would be odd. "Alex," she turned around in her chair so that she was facing him, "what's wrong?" He looked up from his papers and just shrugged. "Nothing." Then he did something Maria hadn't seen him do all day. As if she had never asked him the question in the first place, he smiled. "Nothing at all. I'm having a great day!" Maria nodded slowly; he'd tell her what was wrong. He always did. She trusted Alex, she trusted him a lot. Ever since that day she finally told him about her dad he didn't judge, he didn't laugh and most importantly he didn't think any different of her. He didn't give her pity. He didn't think she
was any less strong.
She turned back in her seat and looked at the newly stocked papers on her desk, great more filing. She glanced over to Michael's desk, hell she'd only been here for a month and still she had more papers on her desk then him! She leaned over, he got an A+? "Woah, good job." She said as she folded her papers. Hm, A+ on her test, mom was going to definitely take her out tonight. Michael glanced up at her, "I don't need your pity." She rolled her eyes, "Listen poophead, that wasn't pity." He was shocked by her sudden outburst, "Shut up dorkbutt." Her eyes flashed, "Moron." "Ditz." "Loser face." "Tard." "Curl freak." "Electro boy." "Lame-o." "Loser." "Weirdo." "Crazy Kid." "Smelly Skunk boy!" "Crazy Pixie Girl!" "Yucky Boy!" "Stinky Girl!" "Geek boy!" "Nerd Girl!" "Moronic Torpedo!" "Hah!" He said, "You said moron twice, you lose. Loser." "Don't call me a loser, geek." She filed her papers once more. Great loser boy is making her bag heavier. "I call 'em like I see em." He stuck his tongue out. "Well then you must not see yourself very often then do you." She stuck her tongue out back at him. "I see myself enough, I'm so much for handsomer then you. Hairy girl." "Dirty Boy." "Bird Brain." "At least I have one!" "Yeah too bad you don't use it!" "Do too!" "Do not!" "Smelly Boy!" Kyle turned around in his seat, "Would you two just SHUT UP?" They both looked at him then looked back at each other. "Ugly Girl!" "Crazy Puke Boy!" "Class may I have your attention please?" Ms.Toposlky stood in front of the class and slowly all chatter stopped. "Thank you, please give all your attention to Mr. Adler, he has to present someone in our class with an award!" The principal walked in with a colourful sheet in his hands. "This year has been very exciting grade 5's especially for you. You're graduating tomorrow and going on to middle school. I hope you guys have a wonderful experience there; you have your whole life ahead of you. Now, the reason for me being here was to congratulate this very important someone. He's worked hard all this month, pulling up his grades. I'm proud to call up and congratulate, Michael Guerin!" The class turned to stare at Michael. It was silent until Alex slowly started clapping, soon Maria joined and then the whole class started clapping for Michael. He looked around everywhere to avoid the gaze of his peers. He took the paper from his principal and mumbled a thank you. "Woohoo Michael!" A voice called out from the back of the class. Michaels' face reddened as he mumbled another thank you and walked quickly back to his seat. Once he sat down Maria leaned over her desk to see his certificate. "That would look better if it had my name on it. But good job. For a dork loser." He smiled inwardly, she wasn't going to give him that much. "It's better then being a bird brain." "Towel Boy!" "Whompy Girl!" -- Amy was restocking shelves until she heard someone enter her store, she frowned. It was noon and the place was pretty dead. "Hi, how may I help you?" She said brushing off any dust from her jeans. He was tall, sparkling blue eyes, firm jaw and was dressed in a business suit. "Hi, my name is Mr.Whitman, I own Whitman incorporated and I've been hearing you're in the mood to make a deal regarding the status of your store?" Amy nodded, she knew
Whitman. It was familiar. Wait, Whitman could it be Alex? "I'm sorry but are you Alex's father?"
He nodded slowly then it hit him. "Maria's mom?" "Amy," she smiled and stuck her hand out. "Glad to meet you." "Feeling's mutual, your daughter has been wonderful with my son. Thank you." He said genuinely. Amy shook her head; it was just how Maria was. One time they bought an old couch, Maria complained about it. She said it was too broken. Within a week they fixed it up and it looked brand new. Maria learnt a lesson that day, nothing broken can't be fixed. "Well Mr.Whitman shall we discuss business? Please follow me into my office." She took him to the back room and he was surprised. It didn't even seem like an office, it was more like a lounge. She sat on the couch and brought him a chair. Once they got adjusted he opened his briefcase and took out documents that covered nearly the entire coffee table. Amy picked one up, "And this would be?" "Legal sharing papers. These states that once the store has been bought, 30% of the sales will be issued to your door. If you want I can bring a lawyer and make sure there aren't any bad loopholes." Amy caught that. "Once Mr.Whitman?" She chuckled; well he was a business man. "30%?" "Once the store, sales will still be coming in and we at the Whitmans' want to make sure that you egt what's rightfully yours." "Hm," Amy said, "and you wouldn't mind if I called my lawyer to make sure the deal's legit?" "I'd be disappointed if you hadn't." "Hm, and these?" She pointed to another document. It was hard to keep track what was what. "Supplies?" Documents were weird. "Well, the supplies will be shipped from of course the place you have been previously ordering your materials and items from-." "I make these myself Mr.Whitman, along with my staff and sometimes Maria. But since there's a document on it, my only request is that you order from the company I choose and the materials I choose." "Agreed Mrs.Deluca." He nodded. This was going better then he expected. "Hm, what if say I came back to Roswell and wanted to have my claim on the store once more? IS there anyway I'd be able to do so?" She said handing him a document then picking up another. These were good. "Ah, spoken like a true business woman. Mrs.Deluca, this document," he switched her documents with yet another paper, "states that if the previous owner returns she and the present managing company may be partners. Distributing the finance evenly among all staff." Amy nodded, "Well Mr.Whitman, you'll have your answer tonight. If you don't mind I will take these documents to my lawyer." She collected the papers and stood up. "It was a pleasure doing business with you Mr.Whitman." "And it was wonderful meeting the mother of the daughter who's changed my sons' life." He shook her hand, grabbed his briefcase and walked out. Amy stared at the papers once more, could she give it all up? Could she pack up and leave again? It was getting harder each passing year to convince Maria this was good for her. That the move was just what they needed. Every year they packed up and moved there was always a possibility out there for something better, and Amy Deluca was going to find it. -- "Well class, I'd like to have your attention before the end of the day." It was one minute until 3 and Topolsky knew it was hard to keep a bunch of 10 year olds calm until school was out. "You guys, it's been a pleasure teaching you, you're all wonderful students. I hope your graduation is perfect and middle school is a wonderful experience." She wiped a tear away, "You children are wonderful." Kyle yelled from a crowd, "Three cheers for Ms.Topolsky the best teacher ever!" 3 "Hip hip hooray!" 2 "Hip hip Hooray!" "Hip, Hip.. 1 The bell rang. "Hooray! The packs of children ran out of their classrooms, the school was empty within seconds. But as always, three students stayed behind on the playground. "So, you guys doing anything for the summer?" Maria asked kicking sand slowly with her shoe while Michael sat silently on the swing and Alex stood silent. "Guys?" The silence bothered her, something was off. "Well, I think I'm moving again." Alex perked up, his eyes following his friends' movements. He tried to read Michaels' expression but his face remained stoic. "Well, it's not official but my mom has been coming home early and so, yeah." She said. She hated moving, why couldn't they just stay in one place? "Ok well you two bozoheads are making me mad, I'm going home." She walked out of the playground and started walking in the direction of her house. They didn't stop her; Alex was in too much shock to let her go and Michael…he was just Michael. The small boy turned his head to look at the troubled one beside him. "Michael, why didn't we stop her?" Alex liked to think he and Michael were friends, the past two weeks the three had hung out with each other. He got over his fear of Michael, he was just another kid. Just troubled. Just like him. "Should we have stopped her?" "No." "Why not?" "Cause Whitman, everyone leaves." He looked down at his feet then at his friend, "just like I am, we'll plan something for the summer. Later." And then there was one. -- Maria walked inside her house, god! She was so mad she just dropped her bag at the front and walked into the kitchen. She wasn't surprised to see her mother on the table, "I just had such a stupid day. Alex was quiet, and I mean dead silent not even me talking made him smile. I mean me, come on mom seriously this is ridiculous they're being such babies and Michael, oh don't even get me started on him and tomorrow's graduation and I don't even think I'm going to have fun because they're being such such such DUMBHEADS!" She yelled and slammed the fridge door. Amy gulped, "Maria, I'm sorry you had such a bad day, maybe Alex and Michael had bad days as well? They'll probably be normal by tomorrow. And besides, tomorrow's graduation!" She added with a smile. Maria instantly chirped, 'Oh mom can we go dress shopping?" "Better yet, want to go get your gift?" Maria nodded so fast it just looked like a big blonde tornado. Her previous mood forgotten she grabbed her mom's hand dragging her out the door. She'd just have to find out they were moving after her graduation.

valentinebaby : "Maria, honey," Amy leaned so that she faced her daughter eye to eye, "it's for the best. There's something better out there then…" "Roswell, New Mexico." Maria finished with a sigh. Even in her perfect pixie graduation dress she felt so weak. So helpless. But her mother was right; there was something better out there. There had to be, otherwise they wouldn't keep moving right? Right. But then why did she have a feeling that she was leaving the best thing, the best place that called itself Roswell? -- Michael looked at himself in the mirror, why was he so nervous? He was wearing a suit that Nicky, a woman from the trailer park, had sewn for him. Perfect size, it looked perfect. He shifted and tried to adjust in his suit once more, great. Graduation day, who knew it would finally come for Michael Guerin. Who knew that he'd get this far. Who knew he'd be this strong? He inhaled, what the hell was that? Getting soft over some stupid day. It's just graduation. "It's not just graduation dumb head. It's the greatest event ever, it's the day we almost grow up, it's a day fro something new" He remembered Maria telling him something along the lines of that. Oh God, Maria. He thought. She was moving, she was, leaving. Never coming back. "Who cares?" he muttered as he fixed his hair. You do. He mentally shrugged, he didn't care. She had to leave so she had to leave, it was logical. It was thinking with his brain. You had to think with your brain, you have too. Thinking with your heart only causes confusion, pain and causes you to become soft. It was just Maria, that crazy chick he loved to bother. Liked, he corrected himself. Liked to bother. There was no love, he was 10. What the hell did he know about love? A whole lot. Love hurt, love was stupid, love got your hopes up. Love changes people. Change is a scary thing. He checked his alarm clock, 5:30. "Time to graduate Michael." -- "Alex, honey you look so handsome!" His mother gushed as she took another picture of him; he had been among the few students to arrive at graduation early. Liz was there and so was Isabel. "Mom, I'm gonna go talk to my…friends." He said jerking him thumb to across the gymnasium. The schools budget couldn't afford a big hall for the kids' graduation, they settled for the school gymnasium and for food, pizza. "Oh are Maria and Michael here?" She said looking up from her camera. "No, it's Isabel and Liz." His mother smiled, more friends? "Ok honey. Your father said he'd be a bit late but he's coming." He nodded his head and ran across to the other side, stopping at Liz Parker whose parents were probably talking about her fast tracking the school year with her teacher. "Hey Liz!" He waved to the girl dressed in all white.
"Hi Alex, you excited about today?" She spoke more loudly then he'd ever imagined her vocal chords could go. "I am I'm excited for middle school too."
"Yeah me too! You look really pretty Liz." He giggled.
Liz blushed; maybe what Isabel and those girls said was right. Maybe Alex Whitman did like her. He was always talking to her and she was nice to him. Well she and Maria and maybe Michael but he never talked to anyone but Maria. She didn't even know if it should be called talking cause all they did was argue.
"Thanks Alex. You look handsome too." The tips of her ears were on fire as the sentence left her lips, Alex just smiled back.
"Alright I'm going to go say hi to Isabel, talk to you later Liz!" He waved and walked over to the object of his affection.
"Hey Isabel, you look…" he stopped to think of a word to describe her, but every word seemed too small in comparison. She looked…
She blushed, which confirmed Alex's theory. When she wasn't with her clones, or being the queen she was forced to be, she was a true person deep down inside.
"Thanks Alex, you look wonderful." He felt his heart pounding in his chest. He wished this moment could last forever, him and Isabel, forever.
"Th-thanks, um do you want to go get some pizza? Ms.Topolsky said to help ourselves; I'll got get you a slice if you want? There's cheese and pepperoni, oh and veggie but I don't know if you like that, unless you do and I'm misjudging you cause if I am I'm really sorry." His babbling left the blond in shock. Boy he really was Maria Deluca's best friend!
"Uh, could I get a cheese slice please? And juice if they have some. Fruit punch if anything." She said with a smile.
"I'll be right on it." He grinned and left the gymnasium. Isabel smiled after him, he wasn't bad. She never hated Alex Whitman. He was nice and cute. He had potential he was just so self conscious and lacked a lot of self esteem.
She shook in fear when she heard the voices of her crew members, "Isabel!" They shouted running up to her.
She plastered a smile on her face, "Hey guys, excited for today?"
"Isabel!" He waved and smiled his biggest smile. Maybe she'll stand up for me. Maybe she told them we were friends.
The blond looked up at him briefly then gave her attention back to her group. As Alex neared he heard whispers and giggles.
"Isabel, I brought your pizza and fruit punch." He gestured to his hands and smiled at the girls around him. "Hi guys."
"Isabel, why is he here?"
"Girls,'' she gave a warning tone but suddenly her voice dropped to a hushed tone when she received suspicious looks from the clones beside her.
"Izzy, you don't like him do you?" A girl named Michelle sneered, causing the other girls to giggle.
"Isabel likes a dork."
"Isabel likes a geek."
Isabel rolled her eyes to these comments, trying to seem unaffected until one comment caught her off guard.
"Some queen. She kissed the frog but got no prince."
"Now hold it right there. I never defended him, I just said girls. You were the ones who brought of some stupid rumor. I don't like Alex Whitman, he's a geek, he's a nerd and he's gross." She turned around to face the boy who was in shock of the whole verbal battle. She looked him in the eye and coldly stated, "You'll never be anything Alex. Don't ever be hopeful because you have no reason to be." She turned on her heel, snapped her fingers and called to her gang. "Pizza girls?"
They all giggled and followed, looking back at Alex, Michelle sneered, "Loser."
Alex stood there, absorbing what just happened. Tears pricked his eyes but he put his head up and smiled. "Today's gonna be great!" He grinned and ran back to his mom. He had pizza in his hands and it wasn't going to go to waste!
Hey you, the one outside, are
you ever gonna get in, get in
Maria walked into the gymnasium and grinned, this was gonna be so much fun, she was so excited! Her eyes roamed around the room, there was Parker just sitting on one of the chairs set up for the parents to watch the ceremony. Alex was sitting with his mom talking her ear off about how excited he was. "Mom, I'm going to go to Alex, come!" She ran towards the boy who was getting his faced wiped of pizza stains. He sipped at his juice while his mother threw the napkin away.
"Alex!" Maria yelped as she hugged her friend. "You excited, cause I am. It all seems so fun, not like I've graduated before cause then it'd mean I failed which I didn't. I'm just so excited! Where's poophead? He better not think he's going to miss his own graduation cause if he is, I'm gonna beat him up!"
"Michael hasn't come at all. I'm sure he will. Want me to go get you some pizza?" He said getting up off his chair. "Hi Ms.Deluca!"
"Amy looked down at the boy and smiled, "Hello Alex."
"Alex! Pizza?"
He grinned, "Race you there!" As the two darted towards the doors the were suddenly halted by the figure opening it.
"Hey Guys."
"Hey Michael, ready for graduation?" Alex grinned as they walked towards the pizza table. Michael decided he should follow wherever it was they were going.
"Yeah." He stuffed his hands in his pocket. He smelt the pizza and took his hands out and took 2 slices. As they munched on their pizzas and Maria started to do her usual babbling their ears perked when they heard an announcement.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now 7:00. Let the ceremony begin!"
And Graduation of the 5th grade began.

middle school is gonna be different for them all. i wonder how Alex and Michael will adjust without Maria, esp Alex. she was his first friend, but at least he
and Michael will have each other if they're able to maintain their friendship.
